In the 28th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on  Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, April 17 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai at 3:30 PM IST.
After registering two back-to-back defeats in the first two games of the season, Sunrisers Hyderabad have made an emphatic turnaround after winning three consecutive fixtures. On Friday, the Kane Williamson-led unit chased down a total of 176 within 18 overs at the loss of just three wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The in-form bowling department with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan and Marco Jansen has been keeping the opponents restricted. The consistent and crucial contribution from the top order batsmen has made the franchise a force to reckon with. With six points, SRH have acquired the seventh spot on the table.
Punjab Kings are having a decent season so far as compared to their last few seasons. After beating Mumbai Indians (MI) earlier this week, PBKS will look to claim one more victory and grab the top spot on the points. The Mayank Agarwal-led unit has won three and lost two matches. The batting line-up of the Punjab-based franchise has been roaring in the ongoing season with Agarwal, Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan firing on all cylinders. The in-form Kagiso Rabada has the potential of derailing any batting line up of the tournament on any given day. PBKS have occupied the third position with six points on the table.

In the head-to-head competition between the two units, SRH have a massive lead. The two teams squared off in 17 games so far out of which, Hyderabad won 12 matches while Punjab emerged victorious on five occasions.
