With only a few weeks until the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the insurance firm, ACKO Insurance has signed sponsorship deals with multiple franchises to become their official insurance partner. With this association, the multi-team sponsorship strategy is back once again in the IPL.
ACKO will have team sponsorship tie-ups with six different teams during IPL 2022.
As the insurance partner, ACKO has joined hands with Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The collaboration with the DC is now in its third year, having begun in 2020.
ACKO collaborates with multiple franchises, it will benefit the brand from increased brand reflection and recognition. In the coming weeks, the association with the teams will be boosted by a 360-degree campaign across television, digital, and social media platforms. The deal will also include ACKO’s logo on the official jerseys of the franchises.
Last year, as part of this partnership with SRH, DC and MI, ACKO had its logo on the leading side of the team’s helmets/caps.
The Bangalore-based company was founded back in 2016. It is a technology company that focuses on solving real-world problems for customers, beginning with insurance. Last year in October, the start-up raised $255 million in a funding round led by General Atlantic and Multiples Private Equity, valuing the company at $1.1 billion.
The first match of the IPL 2022 will be played on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai between the previous edition’s finalists, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and KKR.
