IPL 2021 Phase 2 PBKS vs RR: Preview, head-to-head and sponsors

PBKS has acquired the sixth spot while RR is at the fifth position with six points each in their bag.

In the 32nd match of the VIVO IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals is going to face Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Stadium at 7:30 pm IST on Tuesday.

PBKS struggled in the first leg with only three wins in their bag, which sees them at the sixth place in the points table. Going into the second leg, the Punjab-based franchise will be looking to turn around things as they have added the likes of Adil Rashid and Nathan Ellis who might be their game-changers on the slow pitches of the UAE. They’ll also be trying to get the most out of the South African batsman Aiden Markram after their number one T20I batter Dawid Malan pulled out from the second leg. Punjab lost their last game in the VIVO IPL 2021 against Delhi Capitals by seven wickets.

RR having three wins and four losses out of the seven matches that they played in the first leg are currently placed fifth in the points table. With four of their original overseas picks for the season will be missing out on the second leg, the franchise would be expecting their replacements to step on the paddle to get the needed five out of seven wins in the second leg if they want to qualify for the playoffs. The team would also be expecting some good performances from Liam Livingstone seeing his stellar form in the last few months in the shortest format. RR won their last outing in the VIVO IPL 2021 by 55 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

PBKS and RR have played against each other a total of 22 times, in which the latter has the upper hand by winning 12 of them with the former only winning 10.

Their last encounter in the first phase of the IPL 2021 was a narrow fixture where Punjab won by four runs.
