Punjab Kings have currently acquired the sixth spot in the IPL standings with six points in eight games. The Punjab-based franchise will have to step up their game if they want a chance at qualifying for the playoffs.
With the second phase of IPL 2021 just around the corner, let’s have a look at the three players who could be crucial for the star-studded PBKS team to clinch their maiden title:
1. KL Rahul
The Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul will be one of the most influential players for the team in phase 2 of the tournament, with 2978 runs in 88 matches. KL Rahul will have to be in prime form and lead the team into the knockout stages of the competition.
With an average of 46.53 and a strike rate of 135.85, KL Rahul proves to be a nightmare for bowlers all around the world and Punjab Kings will be looking to use that to the highest degree. The PBKS captain has to set an example of a captain leading from the front.

2. Chris Gayle
The man who needs no introduction, Chris Gayle again will be one of the most important players for Punjab Kings this season. The 41-year-old has an incredible record in the shortest format with 4950 runs in 140 IPL matches.
