IPL 2021: Harsha Bhogle reveals reason behind success of Mumbai Indians

Harsha Bhogle has revealed the reason behind the success of Mumbai Indians under Rohit Sharma. MI is currently the title holder and they have won five trophies since 2013 including going back to back in 2019 and 2020. Four of these titles have come under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

The second round of IPL 2021 fixtures began with a blockbuster clash between five times winner of IPL and also the defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and the two times winner of IPL Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chennai. In the match, Mumbai Indians succeeded to put up a total score of 152 in 20 overs. In response to the target provided by the MI side, KKR ended up making 142 despite being in the driver’s seat during the majority of the chase.

During the post-match press conference, Rahul Chahar praised Rohit Sharma for consistently showing faith and confidence in him. He insisted that Sharma believes in a player even when things are not going right for them on the pitch. Chahar had taken four wickets against KKR, helping MI to strangle them in the middle overs of the chase.

“My confidence is sometimes down, but Rohit shows confidence in me to lift me up. Mumbai Indians takes care of its players during the off-season as well, and that’s why it is such a special franchise.”

Harsha Bhogle praises Rohit Sharma’s captaincy

Harsha Bhogle, popularly known as Voice of Cricket, was amazed by Chahar’s comments after the game and praised Mumbai Indians for improving younger players in the squad. The most successful franchise in IPL history has managed to unearth young players such as Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Krunal Pandya in the past.

Along with achieving success on the pitch, MI also perfect conditions for young players to thrive and become world-class operators. The current squad also has the perfect blend of young and experienced players. MI recently handed debut to 20-year-old pace bowler Marco Jansen in IPL 2021, who is yet to get a cap for South Africa.
