In the India tour of West Indies 2022, the first T20I of the five-match series will take place at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad on Friday, July 29 at 8 PM IST. The visitors won the ODI bilateral series 3-0 after claiming the third match on Wednesday.
India conquered the ODI bilateral series without even breaking a sweat and without the regular 50-over format players. The tourists have strengthened their line-up with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel joining the tour. The star Indian opener will look to pull off yet another dominant performance in the shortest format ahead of the much-awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. With a star-studded line-up, the Indians seem favourite to clinch the T20I series too.
After putting up a fight in the first two ODIs, the hosts fumbled terribly in the final game of the series with the bat and ball in the rain-affected fixture. Nicholas Pooran has a big challenge in front of him when his team will go toe-to-toe with a full-strength in-form Indian side in the T20 format. The two-time T20 World Cup champions will try to gain some momentum ahead of the World Cup in Australia by performing well in the series starting from Friday.
