The second Test match of the India tour of Bangladesh 2022 is set to be played on Thursday, December 22 at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka at 9 AM IST.
After an underwhelming ODI series, the Indian team bounced back in the longest format with a comprehensive 188-run victory to acquire a lead of 1-0. In their last fixture of the year, India will play without their permanent captain, Rohit Sharma, who hasn’t recovered completely from his thumb injury which he suffered in the second ODI. Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill racked up centuries, the former scored his first ton after almost four years. Kuldeep Yadav also announced his comeback in style as he pocketed eight wickets and was also handy with the bat. KL Rahul and his men will aim to conclude the series and 2022 on a positive note by winning the last match of the tour.
On the other end, Bangladesh couldn’t replicate their ODI series form in the longest format of the game. In the second inning, the hosts were clueless against Kuldeep and Mohammed Siraj. In the fourth inning, when conditions became better for batting, the home team gathered 324 while chasing over 500. The Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh team will look to outperform the in-form Indians and draw the Test series 1-1.
India claim yet another victory over Bangladesh and keep their slate clean against the hosts in the longest format. The two sides played 12 fixtures, the Indians won 10 matches and two fixtures ended in a stalemate.
