Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2021 appoints ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India as Official Partner

FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 will be the 12th edition of the biggest tournament in U-21 Men’s Hockey.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), which is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel has been labelled as the official partner of FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021.

AM/NS India has been leading as the integrated flat carbon steel producer in India. While the company has an achievable crude steel capacity of around nine million tonnes per annum.

In this agreement, AM/NS Indian will work together with National Sports Hockey Federation in promoting the country’s national sport, Hockey, all around the country.

The Men’s Junior World Cup is a marquee tournament in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) calendar, it returns nearly after two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dilip Oomen, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, said: “As Odisha gears up to host the rising stars in the world of hockey, we are delighted to partner with Hockey India and support its efforts to bring fans and players across the globe closer to this important national sport. The FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 will be the 12th edition of the biggest tournament in U-21 Men’s Hockey, starting from 24th November. While this is the third time India will be hosting the competition, the last two editions took place in New Delhi in 2013 and Lucknow in 2016.

A total of sixteen teams will be taking part in this tournament, with the host and defending champions India placed in group B, along with Canada, France, and Poland. Each of these teams will be playing three matches in the league stage, over a period of five days. 

Following the league matches, there will be a series of cross-over matches, taking place on 30th November. Followed by that there will be knockout matches from 1st December. The tournament finals will be played on 5th December.
