Formula 1 renews global partnership deal with MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises will prolong to be the global partner of Formula 1 through the conclusion of the 2026 season, as per the agreement.

The premier motorcar racing tournament, Formula 1 has announced a partnership extension with MSC Cruises, one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing cruise brands, ahead of this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix 2023.

MSC Cruises will prolong to be the global partner of Formula 1 through the conclusion of the 2026 season, as per the agreement.

The multi-year deal will see Formula 1 and MSC Cruises expand on their successful alliance by continuing to engage it through an expanded programme of activity. MSC Cruises will bring ships to certain Grand Prix weekends, as per the new arrangement. This move will allow fans to have a unique hospitality experience from track to ship, with the first of these packages starting in Abu Dhabi, with MSC Virtuosa, for the final race of the 2023 Formula 1 season.

In accordance with the agreement, MSC Cruises will also take on the role of title race partner for the Belgian Grand Prix 2023 and organise an exciting fan zone engagement for spectators over the course of the race weekend.

Both organisations will also continue to collaborate towards the common aim of achieving sustainable transformation, with Formula 1 committing to becoming net zero by 2030 and MSC Cruises committing to becoming net zero by 2050, respectively.

Stefano Domenicali, President & CEO, Formula 1, commented, “We’re excited to extend our partnership with MSC Cruises, as both our brands share a commitment to innovation and excellence. This collaboration has brought exceptional results, and we look forward to enhancing our relationship further. Together, we’ll continue pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks in sports and hospitality.”

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, MSC Cruises, said, “Formula 1 and MSC Cruises are great partners on many levels. We are both global leaders in our respective fields and our successes are founded in teamwork. Not only this, but we are both driving towards sustainable change.

“We want to build the future of our industries and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. We are both working at the forefront of our industries and helping to make a real difference, and this is why we are committed to this special partnership for the long term and have signed an extension in our sponsorship as Global Partner.”
