Emma Raducanu set to earn £100 million from sponsorship deals

Emma Raducanu won £1.8 million prize money after winning the US Open.

British tennis star Emma Raducanu created history by winning the US Open final against Leylah Fernandez on Sunday. The teenager defeated the Canadian player by 6-4; 6-3. She is the first British woman in 44 years to win a Grand Slam title.

Already having secured £1.8 million prize money after winning the competition, it’s only set to get better for Emma Raducanu. Experts suggest the youngster could well secure a staggering £100 million in sponsorship deals after her historic win.

Raducanu currently has already inked deals with sports brand Nike and tennis company Wilson. However, analysis shows she can earn even more from lucrative sponsors which will now come her way. At the moment, Japanese player Naomi Osaka is the highest-paid women’s tennis player.

She is a brand dream that no other female sports star in recent years has come close to.The world’s richest and best known brands will be fighting for Emma’s signature,” said Jonathan Shalit, chairman of talent management company InterTalent.

“She can easily earn £100 million or more. She appeals to a broad crowd and is so young she can only get better. The offers have already been pouring in. She’s the biggest thing in sports right now. The sky’s the limit,” said an unofficial source on Mail Online.

“It’s really important just for her commercially and the future of British tennis that there’s someone like her that people can engage with,” said Simon Chadwick, sports business expert from Emlyon Business School.
