EASL names Jalen Green as new investor ambassador

Green will remain engaged with EASL digital material and promotional campaigns in the future.

The East Asia Super League (EASL) and Jalen Green have announced an innovative association prior to the league’s first home-and-away season, which will take place in October 2022.

Jalen Green has been named the latest investor ambassador of the East Asia Super League joining Baron Davis, Metta World Peace, and Shane Battier.

Green will remain engaged with EASL digital material and promotional campaigns in the future, according to the league, and it would also deliver in-depth insight into his daily life, with a spotlight on his Asian origin. Green set a record by becoming the National Basketball Association‘s (NBA) highest-drafted Asian American player (second pick) as well as the third athlete of Filipino heritage to reach the league at such a high level.

Jalen Green, player for Houston Rockets, said, “I’m excited to partner with the East Asia Super League and connect with more of my fans in the Philippines and across Asia. I want to be an inspiration for the next generation of hoopers in Asia and elevate the game in the region and that’s what EASL is all about.”

East Asia Super League CEO, Matt Beyer, said, “Jalen Green is the top Asian heritage NBA star and holds a deep understanding of the marketplace while being loved by fans in Asia and all over the world. He also cares deeply about the sport and believes that helping elevate the game in Asia is part of his legacy. The superstar now has a new way to do that and connect with his fans in the Philippines via East Asia Super League.”

The EASL is rapidly growing, with the goal of being one of the top three leagues in the world until 2025 in terms of viewership numbers and financial income. The league has inked a ten-year deal with FIBA, and its clubs will fight for a $1 million reward along with the championship.
