The official digital streaming partner of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Disney+ Hotstar has outdone itself yet again by gathering 53 million concurrent viewers during the India-New Zealand Semi-Final encounter.
The mammoth concurrent viewership clocked during the second innings when the Blackcaps were chasing down the target of 398 runs. The previous highest on the digital medium was 44 million during the India-South Africa encounter.

The saga of gathering humongous viewership started with the India-Pakistan encounter that had 35 million concurrent viewers. The viewership number was later surpassed by the Men-in-Blue and the Kiwis‘ group stage fixture in Dharamsala, which accumulated 43 million contemporaneous viewership.
The two-time World Cup winners defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the first Semi-Final played in Mumbai and have booked their berth for the final for the fourth time. The grand finale of the marquee cricketing event will be held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
