Deloitte named as official professional services provider of NWSL

Deloitte will be serving as both a sponsor and advisor to the NWSL.

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has penned a deal with Deloitte as its official professional services provider in a multi-year deal.

In this deal, Deloitte will be serving as both a sponsor and advisor to the NWSL, as the company aims to support the US league on a range of initiatives, including the development of its ten-year strategic plan.

NWSL commissioner in a statement remarked that Deloitte’s experience and capabilities across long-term strategy, fan engagement, and other areas will play an integral role in the growth of the league.

Terri Cooper, vice-chair of external diversity, equity and inclusion at Deloitte, said, “Our commitment at Deloitte to gender equity is stronger than ever, as we continue to focus on fostering a culture of belonging in our workplace. Dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion is a core pillar of our new sponsorship with the NWSL, and we’re so excited to get started.”

The deal was announced just after NWSL received a lot of criticism from its own players for scheduling a 9 am pacific time kickoff for its championship game, which is to be held on 20th November.

Deloitte will be seen joining the sponsorship portfolio of the NWSL that includes companies like Ally Financial, Budweiser, Mastercard, Nationwide, Nike and Verizon.

Recently, the three-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka had also become the part-owner of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) franchise North Carolina Courage.

The NWSL has its format in such a way that each year all the participating teams compete for the NWSL Shield, followed by the playoffs, and ultimately, the NWSL Championship.

The London-based company Deloitte is one of the most world’s most admired brands that provides advisory and consulting to some of the top companies in the world.
