Brighton agrees to sign Cucurella for €18m from Getafe

Cucurella is one of the graduates of the famous La Masia.

The top-flight Premier League club, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C seem to be very determined to sign the young Spaniard Marc Cucurella as they have reportedly agreed to sign a transfer deal with Getafe CF for €18m.

It seems like the Seagulls have finally got the offensive addition for their squad they have been looking forward to since all summer as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the winger’s release clause has been activated.

Getafe has been resistant about the deal price and was determined that Brighton would not be getting a cut-price deal and the English South coast side had to activate Cucurella’s current release clause to pull off a deal.

On the other hand, Romano has declared that they have now done that, agreeing to pay the €18million required to get the deal done.

Reportedly, Cucurella will head to Brighton as soon as today to sign the contract with the English club ahead of completing his move.

He will then have time to make the move from Spain over the international break which is now in action, having finished his duties with Spain under-21s following the recent U-21 European Championships.

Cucurella is one of the graduates of the famous La Masia and has also represented FC Barcelona in the UEFA U/19, he has played 54 games for FC Barcelona B and later on played in the top-flight Spanish league La Liga after his move to Getafe CF where he played 86 games.
