The Sheffield-based greyhound racing event, Steel City Cup named recently-established local sports betting operator BresBet as its new title sponsor.
The Cup will be taking place between October 16 and October 30 at the city’s Owlerton Stadium and with the partnership in place, it will now be known as the BresBet Steel City Cup.
Commenting on the partnership, Nic Brereton, Founder and Chairman of BresBet, said, “We’ve had some great nights at Owlerton Stadium over the years and it’s a real honour to now become sponsors of the BresBet Steel City Cup.”
“Horse racing is at the core of our business, but our love of greyhound racing will ensure that BresBet will feature prominently across both sports in terms of partnerships and sponsorships – we were delighted to support Yarmouth with a really successful BresBet East Anglian Derby and we’re looking forward to announcing other partnerships and sponsorships soon.”
The recently established betting operator BresBet has established its objective to get back into betting services and aims to focus on providing customer-friendly services, primarily concerning horse and greyhound racing.
The company has recently signed partnerships with other horse racecourses and races which also includes gaining the title sponsorship to the 75th East Anglian Greyhound Derby at Yarmouth Stadium and partnering with Uttoxeter and Warwick horse racecourses.
The company has also recently signed champion jockey Paddy Brennan as its first ‘Racing Legend’.
The betting operator also founded a program known as BresBet Foundation which is tasked with backing horse and greyhound welfare charities, as the issue of the welfare of competing animals becomes increasingly prominent on the Greyhound Board of Great Britain’s (GBGB) objectives.
The Steel City Cup will see the initial heats starting from October 16, which will then be followed by a semi-final on October 23 and a final on October 30.
