The Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund have inked a long-term agreement with the fantasy sports game platform, Sorare.
All players from the German top-flight club will be available for play and trade as digital collectibles on the fantasy sports platform following the licensing rights extension between Sorare and DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH.
In addition, the two parties involved will also release several marketing initiatives.
The campaigns consist of a meet and greet with BVB players and visits to the team’s home stadium. Users of Sorare can win this opportunity through the Sorare Fantasy Football game. In this collaboration, Sorare will be featured across SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.
Head of Business Development at Sorare, Michael Meltzer, said, “BVB has long been known beyond all national borders as a club with a far-reaching tradition, incredible fans and an inspiring style of play. In recent years and decades, Borussia Dortmund has won numerous national and international titles. We are therefore delighted to have BVB as a partner at our side with whom we can set up exciting, digital fan experiences.”
Speaking on creating engagement opportunities for fans, Carsten Cramer, Managing Director at Borussia Dortmund, said, “At Borussia Dortmund we want to create new experiences for our young fans. Together with Sorare we want to offer new incentives to fans in the field of fantasy sports games and enable them to connect with BVB in the digital world in an interactive and playful way.”
In recent developments, the Bundesliga team has secured partnerships with Workday and AIMS.
On the German top flight table, Borussia Dortmund have acquired the top spot with 12 points. The team will be next seen in action in the Champions League on September 6 against Copenhagen.
