Blackpool FC, LeoVegas to highlight special logo this weekend to promote ‘Safer Gambling Week’

LeoVegas itself provided the brand replacement to Blackpool FC as part of a countrywide drive to encourage responsible gaming.

An English professional association football club, Blackpool FC in partnership with their main sponsor, LeoVegas, will showcase a special logo in front of their jersey to promote ‘Safer Gambling Week’.

Before this weekend’s game, Blackpool’s usual LeoVegas sponsor will be replaced with a logo that encourages safer gambling when the team plays Shrewsbury Town at Bloomfield Road on November 18.

Founded in Sweden in 2012, the LeoVegas Group is a global operator of iGaming and the leader in the mobile casino sector in Europe. It runs a number of well-known and respectable brands. Since the company’s inception, the company has made ethical gambling a priority in its culture. The cornerstone of the business’s activities is the promotion of ethical gaming and awareness-building.

With the help of several partners, the yearly campaign, which is scheduled for November 13–19, is back to encourage safer betting practices throughout the UK and Ireland.

The sports betting firm itself provided the brand replacement as part of a countrywide drive to encourage responsible gaming and increase awareness of its relevance.

This coming weekend, the League One team is the sole team in the English Football League (EFL) to display the safer gambling statement on the front of its jersey.

Jonty Castle, Blackpool FC Chief Operating Officer, said, “Safer Gambling Week is an important nationwide initiative, which both ourselves at the football club and LeoVegas wanted to bring to the forefront of people’s thinking this weekend. Raising awareness on the importance of safer gambling is vital, and Saturday’s match will see us promote this in a unique way, with LeoVegas replacing their front of shirt sponsorship with the ‘Safer Gambling’ logos.

Alongside crucial information, support and advice being spread across our website and social media platforms, the key messaging surrounding Safer Gambling Week is being circulated as far and wide as possible by both ourselves and our valued partners at LeoVegas.”

Sam Behar, LeoVegas Group Director of UK and Ireland, said, “Responsible gaming is at the heart of our offering at LeoVegas. We are incredibly proud to work with Blackpool and to make sure all fans understand the range of tools we have on offer to ensure our players keep their play safe.

“Safer Gambling Week is an important time of the year and, as such, ensuring that we replace our logo on the front of shirts to promote the week was crucial to us at LeoVegas. We thank Blackpool for their ongoing support for this week and for how we communicate our commitment to responsible gaming.”
