AIA names Son Heung-min as new brand ambassador

Son will strive to motivate Singaporeans to live better lives every day as AIA Singapore's brand ambassador.

The pan-Asian insurance group, AIA, has announced a new endorsement deal with the Tottenham Hotspur footballer, Son Heung-min. Following this agreement, the South Korean superstar has been named as the brand ambassador.

AIA Singapore’s first brand ambassador is the South Korean international. His recruitment is a portion of the AIA One Billion initiative, which intends to participate a billion individuals in the region to live ‘Healthier, Longer, Better Lives’ by 2030.

Son will strive to motivate Singaporeans to live better lives every day as AIA Singapore’s brand ambassador by encouraging holistic wellness in three key areas: overall health, inspiration and mental health, and economic well-being.

Son’s appointment emerges after AIA strengthened its relationship with Tottenham earlier this month by naming the English Premier League club’s captain, Harry Kane, as a brand ambassador. Since 2013, AIA has been Tottenham’s global principal partner. The agreement was extended in July 2019 until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Melita Teo, Chief Customer and Digital Officer at AIA Singapore, said, “Recognised as one of the greatest ever football players Asia has produced, Son is an icon and inspiration for many. His journey with football highlights his talent and personal values of self-improvement, grit, and determination.

“His values and current journey as a professional footballer to never settle for status quo is parallel to AIA Singapore’s constant pursuit to better support customers to live better by achieving holistic wellness. Together with Son, we look to create greater positive impact in the lives of Singaporeans in 2023 and beyond.”
