WTA, FanDuel extend collaboration in a multi-year deal

For WTA fans, FanDuel has effectively demonstrated the next development of data-driven touchpoints and reliable betting products.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has announced a partnership extension with the sports-tech firm, FanDuel.

In this new multi-year deal, FanDuel will continue to act as the Hologic WTA Tour’s authorised gaming operator in North, South, and Central America.

FanDuel was a pioneer in displaying video highlights of women’s tennis throughout its digital platforms and introducing women’s tennis into the gaming movement for Western regions in order to encourage the development of women’s sports.

For WTA fans, FanDuel has effectively demonstrated the next development of data-driven touchpoints and reliable betting products, enabling tennis in the Americas to participate in the expanding engagement possibilities surrounding fantasy sports. As long as the arrangement is in effect, Stats Perform, the WTA’s official data provider, will continue to give FanDuel exposure to its trademarks and official scoring data.

WTA, President, Micky Lawler, said, “Our extension with FanDuel represents the WTA’s ongoing commitment to innovation. As we continue to diversify how fans consume and engage with sports, we’re pleased to have a gaming operator who not only shares our vision to strengthen the exposure of women’s tennis but who is dedicated to developing responsible gambling standards and practices that allow fans to do so in a fun and safe way.”

Clifton Ma, Strategic Partnerships, Vice President, FanDuel, said, “This partnership has given us the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the WTA to develop new, exciting products that have increased engagement and excitement for women’s tennis. FanDuel is committed to supporting women in sports and this partnership has been a key pillar of that commitment as we’ve worked with the WTA to celebrate key women’s initiatives through unique storytelling opportunities.”

Such storytelling has included commemorating the 50th anniversary of Title IX in 2022 and promoting International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month with various video series. The partnership also grants FanDuel the opportunity to receive WTA hospitality at various tournaments and regular social media posts during the season.

FanDuel will keep promoting responsible and safe gaming as well as the accessibility of options for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
