Wimbledon takes the aerial route with Emirates partnership

With the multi-year agreement, Emirates will be Wimbledon's official airline partner.

The most prestigious grand slam in tennis, Wimbledon has developed a partnership with the UAE-based airline company, Emirates.

With the multi-year agreement, Emirates will be the tournament’s official airline partner, ensuring it will now sponsor all four of the major Grand Slam tennis tournaments: Wimbledon, the Australian Open (AO), the French Open, and the US Open.

Throughout the Wimbledon tournament, Emirates branding will be seen on the court, particularly on Centre Court. From July 1–14, 2024, Emirates will also be active around the event; however, details on marketing, on-site activations, hospitality choices, and social and digital partnerships are still pending.

The two will also work together on charitable endeavours, including the establishment of a seven-figure “Force for Good” fund to assist regional communities.

Emirates President, Sir Tim Clark, stated, “Wimbledon is a major sporting event viewed by millions around the world, and we’re delighted to be associated with such a well-respected brand.

Deborah Jevans, chair of the All England Club that hosts Wimbledon, said, “In partnering with Emirates, as Official Airline Partner, Wimbledon is joining forces with a premium brand and one of the world’s leading sponsors of tennis, and sport more generally. As Emirates embarks on its fourth decade supporting tennis, this exciting partnership takes the organization’s investment and connection to the sport to the next level.

We have received record levels of interest from the UK and around the world in attending The Championships this year, and support from Official Partners like Emirates helps us maintain the event at the pinnacle of sport for both players and fans.”

Emirates has been a longstanding partner in tennis, having been associated with the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships since 1993. In 2013, Emirates also teamed more prominently with the top ATP Tour.

Emirates has expanded its sponsorship portfolio to include Wimbledon, having already partnered with the UK Open in 2012, the French Open in 2013, the Australian Open in 2015, and other renowned major slam tennis tournaments.
