West Ham United extend association with Lyca Mobile in multi-year deal

West Ham United and Lyca Mobile have been together since the 2012–13 campaign.

The Premier League club, West Ham United (WHU) have inked a multi-year partnership extension with the world’s largest international mobile virtual network operator, Lyca Mobile.

West Ham United and Lyca Mobile have been together since the 2012–13 campaign, but now this new deal will also include the Hammers’ women’s team.

Both parties worked together on several initiatives over the past ten years for the benefit of their common communities in East London and Essex, including expanding the venerable Lyca Mobile Cup to include a separate girls’ competition. This competition, organised by the West Ham United Foundation, is in its ninth year and continues to give hundreds of young people the chance to play football and interact with their favourite Hammers players each year.

West Ham United and Lyca Mobile have promoted awareness on a number of subjects through the well-liked YouTube series ‘Snack Wars.’ Most recently, they shed light on Ramadan and how players modify their regular schedules to observe the event.

As part of the extension, Lyca Mobile is collaborating with the club on a business effort that will give Hammers supporters the chance to win tickets, merchandise, and “meet the player” opportunities in addition to allowing them to buy specially created Lyca Mobile “Fan Plans” at an incredible value.

On game days, the club’s expanding digital estate, in addition to the perimeter LED system, will continue to display the Lyca Mobile logo.

Nathan Thompson, West Ham United’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We are delighted to have secured a further extension to our partnership with Lyca Mobile. I’m thrilled that this partnership has run into its second decade and this is testament to the shared values and ambitions of both West Ham United and Lyca Mobile.

“As the profile of our Women’s team continues to grow, off the back of a successful standalone girls’ edition of the Lyca Mobile Cup, I am also delighted to welcome Lyca Mobile to our portfolio of Women’s partners. Whilst we have achieved some fantastic things together, I have no doubt that the best is yet to come which will benefit our loyal fanbase.”

Richard Schäfer, Lyca Group CEO, said, “We are thrilled to have renewed our long-standing partnership with West Ham United at this exciting time for the club. As a business that has worked alongside the team for many years, it was fantastic to see them win their European trophy last season. But just as importantly, it has been hugely gratifying to support West Ham United’s charitable initiatives in bringing opportunities to local communities and young people in east London and Essex over the past decade.

“It’s great to see our partnership expand to include the Women’s team at such an exciting time for women’s football with the World Cup underway. I look forward to the opportunities this partnership can bring to our customers over the next few years.”

Last month, the club also announced a partnership with eToro. In this deal, the social trading and multi-asset investment entity has become the club’s official online trading partner. The team is all set to begin its 2023–24 campaign against AFC Bournemouth tonight, i.e., August 12 at 7:30 PM IST.
