Uruguayan National Football Team concludes kit sponsor pursuit via Nike deal

This agreement ensures Nike will outfit Uruguayan senior men's national team as they compete for their 16th Copa America title in the United States this summer.

The Uruguayan Football Association (AUF), the governing body of football in Uruguay, has announced a new partnership with sportswear giant Nike.

This agreement ensures that the sporting brand will outfit La Celeste senior men’s national team as they compete for their 16th Copa America title in the United States this summer (June 20 to July 14).

The deal comes after the AUF concluded its long-standing partnership with Puma in 2023. Following this transition, the Los Charruas team wore unbranded jerseys before securing Nike as the new kit supplier.

Founded in 1964, Nike is a global leader in athletic apparel and footwear. The company outfits athletes for peak performance while also driving fashion trends with iconic sneakers like Air Jordans. This commitment to both performance and style resonates across various sports.

Recently, Nike signed with the German Football Association (DFB) as the official kit supplier commencing in 2027. Beyond football, Nike boasts an impressive roster of global brand ambassadors, including sports royalty like LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Tiger Woods. In India, the brand has partnered with cricket stars Smriti Mandhana, Prithvi Shaw, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shubman Gill.

With Nike as the new supplier, Seleccion Uruguaya enters Copa America 2024 well-equipped to face Group C’s challenges, including Bolivia, Panama, and the host nation, the USA.
