Tour de France announces Santini as its yellow jersey supplier

Santini overtakes Le Coq Sportif as the new kit provider for Tour de France.

The world-famous men’s 23-days international cycling race, Tour de France has reached an agreement with the Italian sportswear brand Santini as its new supplier of the iconic yellow jersey.

This collaboration of Tour de France with Santini will see the latter take over the former’s previous partners Le Coq Sportif, who took over from Nike back in 2011. The agreed deal between both parties is set to run for five years.

Santini’s will cover the leader jersey’s for women’s Tour de France Femmes and the amateur L’Etape du Tour event. Moreover, the brand will be responsible for making the official replica jersey for the general sale, as well as the jerseys that worn by amateurs riders during the L’Etape du Tour.

“Signing this agreement was a hugely emotional experience for us and we are genuinely thrilled to announce this partnership with the Tour de France,” said SantiniCycling Wear chief executive Monica Santini.

Adding the newly announced tie-up between the Santini and Tour de Frace, Yann Le Moenner, the chief of ASO added: “We are glad and proud to welcome Santini on the Tour de France. A new chapter has opened itself for the leader jerseys of La Grande Boucle thanks to this historic brand of cycling equipment.”

The Italian brand, Santini already makes jersey’s for the UCI (International Cycling Union), the sport’s global governing body. The deal between the parties dates back to 1994, which was extended this year when Santini was unveiled as the kit supplier for the newly founded UCI Track Champions League.

This deal is set to run for five years, it will also see Santini supply leader jersey for the Grande Boucle, the Tour de France Femmes Avec Swift and the amateur riders competing in the L’Etape du tour.
