The international chess-playing sisters, Tanishka Kotia and Riddhika Kotia have been appointed as brand ambassadors for the centre’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao‘ initiative. The two players are roped in as brand ambassadors from Gurugram.
Being elated by the announcement, the father of the young stars said that it was indeed a proud moment for the family. The mother of the girls also commented on this development and said, “They have made our dreams true and are a true example of the fact that girls are as accomplished as boys and need equal opportunities.”
Naresh Sharma, the secretary of the Haryana State Chess Association, congratulated both the young talents and wished them to garner a bright future. On the other hand, the athletes also showcased gratitude to the administration to choose them for this responsibility. They further added in their comments that they will always try to work hard towards education, chess, social welfare and upliftment.
Tanishka is a women FIDE master in chess, which is a highly ranked title. Riddhika started playing the sport from the age of three and continues to develop her skillset in it. Tanishka studies in SRCC, while Riddhika goes to the Suncity School.
