PepsiCo signs sponsorship deal with UEFA Women’s Champions League

Global food and beverage company PepsiCo has signed a 5-year sponsorship deal with UEFA’s major women’s club and national team competitions. As per the deal, PepsiCo will sponsor the UEFA Women’s Euros and Women’s Champions League along with its current sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League.

Furthermore, it will also be the main sponsor, supporting women’s football, including the European Women’s U19 and U17 Championships and the Women’s Futsal Euro. It will also be a main sponsor of UEFA’s Together #WePlayStrong programme, which is aimed at encouraging more girls and women to play football.

The deal makes PepsiCo the first brand to win both the men’s and women’s Champions League main sponsorship rights after the UEFA’s decision to separate the men’s and women’s rights from 2018.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, the Marketing Director of UEFA Events SA, said, “The popularity of and interest in women’s football is increasing with every year and this is why we are delighted to have such a trusted partner as PepsiCo join us on this exciting journey.”

He further added,“Over the last five years, PepsiCo has been an innovative and influential partner of the UEFA Champions League and we are looking to draw on this energy and experience in order to take the women’s game to new heights.”

“PepsiCo is proud to unify and strengthen our global partnership with UEFA to now include UEFA Women’s football. This is an energizing moment in the evolution of the sport – and for our business around the world. We look forward to helping accelerate the vibrant women’s game and are committed to the future of women’s football”, said Ram Krishnan, Global chief commercial officer, PepsiCo.
