Sony Sports Network acquires media rights for Australia tour of Pakistan

India's arch-rival Pakistan is going to host Australia after 24 years.

The sports broadcasting unit, Sony Sports Network will broadcast the historic Australia tour of Pakistan 2022. The bilateral series consists of 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and a one-off T20I that will be aired live on SONY SIX & SONY SIX HD channels from March 4, 2022. The series will also be streamed on the media network’s OTT platform, SonyLIV.

India’s arch-rival Pakistan is going to host Australia after 24 years. The Aussies will be heading into this series on the back of a 4-1 victory against Sri Lanka at home in the shortest format. On the other hand, the hosts will aim to emerge victorious in front of the home crowd after a series of strong performances in the past several months.

The visitors have the likes of Aaron Finch, Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschage, David Warner and Mitchell Starc while the home team will rely on the in-form Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Azhar Ali.

The Test series will start from March 4, the ODI fixtures will commence from March 29, while the one-off T20I will be conducted on April 5.

On the commercial field, TikTok has been appointed as the title sponsor of the Test series, while Osaka Batteries is the official presenting partner for the longest format.
