Raheem Streling sign multi-year deal with New Balance

New Balance has unveiled Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling as the new global face for the brand. He confirmed his deal with US-based sports footwear and apparel brand on Wednesday after working with Nike for a long time.

Sterling is the latest star to join New Balance after Liverpool’s Sadio Mane joined in 2019 and Arsenal’s young prodigy Bukayu Saka last year. From growing up in Brent, England to Manchester City and England’s star winger. Sterling’s journey has been one to watch and he has inspired many young players around the world.

The former Liverpool player signed for Manchester City in 2015 for an initial £44 million, with a further potential £5 million in add-ons which made him the most expensive English player at that time. He currently comes in as the third highest-paid player in the UK at £15.6m per season.

Sterling is under contract at Manchester City until 2023 and he earns £300,000-per-week. This new collaboration will be beyond the pitch as the Man City player and New Balance set to collaborate across performance and lifestyle products. Sterling will wear signature edition boots of New Balance named Furon v6+ which would be ‘RS’ limited-edition boots with a white base and a golden soleplate.

Sterling previously worked with Nike but he left the American brand in 2019. It was also rumoured that he was close to signing a £100 million deal with Puma, the official kit supplier for Manchester City. He was also rumoured with Air Jordan when he was without a sponsor for over a year but New Balance lured him to join them. He also has several other sponsorship deals with brands like Clarks, H&M, Gillette, Lucozade Sport.

New Balance will also support Raheem Sterling’s philanthropic work outside the world of football, providing opportunities to young disadvantaged children in Kingston, Manchester and London. He will wear those boots in the match against Everton on May 23 and the Champions League final against Chelsea on May 30.
