Premier Sports bags broadcast rights for UEFA matches

UEFA Nations League matches, as well as Euro 2024 qualifiers, are also included in the two-year agreement.

The multinational pay-television service, Premier Sports, from 2022 to 2024, has bought a full package of the UEFA national team competitions broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom, including the ‘home nations’ of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales, as well as the Republic of Ireland.

UEFA Nations League matches, as well as Euro 2024 qualifiers, are also included in the two-year agreement. During the international weeks of 2022, 2023, and 2024, Premier Sports will air almost 400 games.

The UEFA Nations League and European qualifiers join Premier Sports’ football lineup, which includes LaLiga and Copa del Rey cup matches, the Coppa Italia, German Cup, and North America’s, Major League Soccer (MLS).

Premier Sports will broadcast 60 games including Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland exclusively. Matches involving Wales will be broadcast in a non-exclusive manner. Highlights of select live broadcasts involving Scotland and Northern Ireland will be shown for free. All the other games involving teams from outside the United Kingdom will be broadcast live as well.

The agreement covers all of England’s qualifiers for the 2024 European Championship, all games in the 2022-23 Nations League, and all international friendly games for the next two years.

Premier Sports’ partnership with the European soccer’s governing body begins on June 1 with coverage of the Finalissima match, which pits Italy and Argentina against each other at the Wembley Stadium in London.

Richard Sweeney, Premier Sports Chief Executive, said, “We are thrilled to be awarded this fantastic package of UEFA national team matches.

“This summer when the domestic season ends, our subscribers will enjoy a feast of international football with live coverage of the UEFA Nations League. From 2023 we will bring fans every game of their team’s vital qualification process towards UEFA Euro 2024.”
