Joshua Kimmich renews contract with Bayern Munich

Joshua Kimmich has played 264 games for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich’s young talent Joshua Kimmich has renewed his contract with the Bavarian club. The German international has committed his future at the Allianz Arena and will be staying till the year 2025 at the club.

Joshua Kimmich came to Bayern Munich in 2015 from the Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig. Since then he has performed exceptionally well at the club and has won the UEFA Champions League in 2020 and also with the UEFA Midfielder of the Year Award in the same season.

He has featured in 264 games for the German outfit and has recorded 30 goals and 73 assists to cement his name as one of the best midfielders in the world. Initially, he started as a right-back but had then shifted to a defensive midfielder role. He has won six Bundesliga titles so far.

The most important reason for my contract extension is that here at FC Bayern I can enjoy my passion every day,” said Joshua Kimmich

“I have a team with which I can achieve anything, and a lot of my teammates have become real friends. That’s why I started playing soccer in the first place: Because it should be fun.

“I don’t see myself at the end of my development yet and I am convinced that a lot is possible at FC Bayern in the next few years. In addition, my family feels very comfortable here. Munich has become a second home. The combination that we have here cannot be found anywhere in the world.”
