In the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) will welcome Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) tonight, i.e., Saturday, April 20 at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi at 7:30 PM IST.
The home team will be high on confidence as they have won two back-to-back games after just winning one in the first five matches. Despite being sixth in the standings, the unit will not think much, instead focusing on maintaining its strong form on the pitch and gradually rising up. DC’s bowling has been fairly good in recent matches, with the Indian trio of Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, and Mukesh Kumar doing an outstanding job and undoubtedly supporting each other at all stages of the innings. Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel additionally did admirably in the spin department. Talking about the batting lineup, the opening duo of Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk have certainly shown a positive impact, while Rishabh Pant, Shai Hope, and others have also performed well.
Currently at fourth in the points tally with four wins from six games, SRH boasts a serious chance to win the game and climb up to second. One key reason for this is SRH’s batting, which has been on fire since the first ball of the first game. Travis Head, who scored a century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the previous match, and Abhishek Sharma, who is also producing strong starts to the innings, as well as Heinrich Klassen and Aiden Markram, who are batting at an elevated strike rate of around 200 this season, are all in good form and will look to keep it up throughout the season. Skipper Pat Cummins and T Natarajan are also bowling at an economy rate of 7.87 and 9.87, respectively. Nonetheless, others need to step up.
Head-to-Head:
Both teams contested 23 matches against each other, with DC winning 11 and SRH winning 12. In their previous match, which took place last year, SRH won the game by nine runs.
