In the eighth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will welcome Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati tonight i.e. Wednesday, April 5 at 7:30 PM IST.
The hosts will be heading into this fixture on the back of a dominating victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). A victory in today’s game will help them acquire the top spot due to a massive net run rate. The inaugural IPL champions started from where they left last season as the likes of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal continue to fire on all cylinders. After missing out on clinching the second title last season by a frisk, the Rajasthan-based team will look forward to going a step ahead of the previous edition.
On the other end, PBKS will also be high on confidence after emerging victorious in their first game of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The team’s top order contributed heavily and finishing touches were provided by Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan. The Punjab bowlers went for runs but were able to pick wickets at regular intervals to contain the flow of runs. Shikhar Dhawan had an ecstatic IPL captaincy debut and will be looking forward to carrying it in the season.
