Phase 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is all set to begin in the UAE from September 19. The Hyderabad-based IPL franchise will be looking forward to changing their momentum in the league as they are currently placed last on the points table with only two points in their hand.
The team suffered six losses and only one win out of the seven matches they played in phase 1. With phase 2 of the league set to start from tomorrow, Sunrisers Hyderabad will aim for a spectacular comeback to qualify for the playoffs.
The three players who could be very crucial for SRH in phase 2 are as follows:
1. Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan has been the star bowler for SRH in the first phase of the season. He has consistently been taking wickets for the side and has led the bowling attack for the franchise pretty well. He took a total of 10 wickets in the seven matches that he played for the franchise in the first leg. Fans will be expecting the same performance from him in the second phase as well.
2. Kane Williamson
The Kiwi-skipper who was appointed as the captain of the side in phase 1 will have to play a major role in turning around things for SRH. Kane Williamson has already guided SRH to the IPL finals in 2018, the owners and fans would count on Williamson to pull off a similar kind of performance in phase 2. Along with the captaincy, Williamson acts as a glue of the SRH batting line-up. Williamson has carried SRH’s batting in the past and would want to do it again to conclude the season on a higher note.
3. David Warner
In the absence of Bairstow, the franchise will be looking forward to David Warner for giving a confident start in the powerplay. Due to his inconsistency with the bat, the franchise had sacked Warner from the captaincy and was even dropped from the team. But the fans still believe that Warner, who has been their most valuable player in previous seasons will perform well for the franchise once again.
The team will be playing their first match against Delhi Capitals in the second phase of IPL on September 22 at 7:30 PM IST at the Dubai International Stadium.
