IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals not getting carried away with wins

Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has said that the atmosphere inside the team’s dressing room is great and every member is aware of the fact that there are no easy games in IPL 2021. Delhi went back to the top of the points table after a convincing win on Sunday. After the win against Punjab Kings on Sunday, Rabada hailed the current DC squad.

“The atmosphere is great at the moment, it is a young team and we have come of some good performances. There are no easy games in the IPL, even against you guys, it was not an easy game.”

Rabada came into the game against Punjab lacking form, having picked up 5 wickets in 6 matches. The South African seems to have found his groove on Sunday as he picked up three wickets – two in the powerplay, and one at the death.

Shikhar Dhawan played an impressive knock of 69 runs as Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by seven wickets on Sunday. Along with Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw also contributed from his end and played a quickfire knock of 39 runs. For Punjab Kings, Chris Jordon, Harpreet Brar, and Riley Meredith picked up one wicket each.

Rabada has not hit the standards he is accustomed to. Picking up just nine wickets in seven matches. The speedster was retained by Delhi Capitals for the 2019 season despite not playing a part in the 2018 season and the move paid off as he picked up 25 wickets during Delhi Capitals’ run to the semi-finals in IPL 2019. He got even better in IPL 2020 with a Purple Cup-winning display, where he scalped 30 wickets to power his side to the final.

With this win, DC has moved to the first spot in the points table with 12 points from eight games in IPL 2021. Rishabh Pant has been leading the side well in the absence of injured Shreyas Iyer. The team has only lost two matches and is definitely heading in the right direction.
