IOA sees 40% rise in Tokyo Olympics 2020 sponsorships

Over ₹20 crores have been roped in through sponsors for the Indian contingent of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

With the Tokyo Olympics 2020 underway and up and running, the Indian Olympic Association is seeing a record number of sponsorships in the current edition of the Games. With a whopping number of as many as 13 sponsors just for the Indian contingent to represent Team India in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The Indian Olympic association stated that as compared to the Rio 2016 games, the IOC noticed an increase of as much as 40 per cent, Adani Group, Amul, INOX Group, Edelweiss, MPL – Sports Foundation, Herbalife, Raymond’s, Nippon Paint, JSW and Sports For All. Over ₹20 crores have been roped in through sponsors for the Indian contingent of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The deals also helped the IOA in announcing cash awards for all the Indian Medal Winners in the Olympic games. The sponsorship has surely helped the IOA very much, it also helped the organisations in increasing their global outreach.

The sponsorship rise is definitely a positive thing in the dire times of the pandemic. Signing the sponsorship deals were definitely not an easy task due to the heavy losses incurred by many companies in the pandemic.
