Indian women’s hockey team honoured and felicitated by CM Shivraj Singh

A lot of important Indian figures including the sports minister was present during the felicitation.

Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has honoured and felicitated the Indian women’s hockey team with 31 lacs each. He even congratulated the team by talking about the outstanding performance of the Indian women’s hockey team in the Tokyo Olympics.

These young women won the hearts of the people of the country. We are fulfilling our duty by honouring them in Madhya Pradesh, the heart of the country. In the next Olympics, they will win the gold medal.” Addressed the CM.

There was a luncheon hosted by the Chief Minister at his residence in the afternoon specially to address and congratulate the Indian women’s hockey team. According to the CM, each and every player and member from the squad showed enormous passion and energy in the Olympics and their skills were extraordinary.

The felicitation of INR 31 lacs for all the Indian women’s hockey team players was done in Minto Hall, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh by the Chief Minister.

The excellent performance of the women’s hockey team has pushed the confidence of the upcoming players and has set an example for the youth. As a token of appreciation, the CM gifted each player a replica of the Sanchi Stupa. He also gave the same to the coach Shri Tushar Khandekar.

A lot of important Indian figures such as Sports Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Indian Olympic Association, F.I.H. President Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra, Principal Secretary Sports, Youth Welfare Department Shri Gulshan Bamra, Director Sports Shri Ravi Gupta and Director Public Relations Shri Ashutosh Pratap Singh were witnessed during the occasion.

By showing higher importance to the sport he said, “Bhopal is the ‘nursery’ of hockey and we will continue to take sports forward.”

He also announced, “Madhya Pradesh government will make the contribution needed in the national game. Hockey is our life, and we will build a world-class hockey stadium in the land of Madhya Pradesh.” While assuring the players, he said, “We will leave no stone unturned for the encouragement of any sport.”

Rani Rampal, the captain of the team thanked the Chief Minister during the felicitation and said, “Your love and affection and encouragement towards women players is a message to the rest of the States that we should encourage women to play sports in the country.”

During her speech, she admired the Chief Minister and designated Madhya Pradesh as a centre of sports.

She said, “I thank the Sports Minister, and proud of the fact being a lady she has taken sports to a new level for female players, the amount of effort she puts in, is commendable. Her words that winning or losing does not matter, what matters is the efforts you put in to win are very motivating for us.”
