Indian Olympic Association ropes in many sponsors ahead of the Tokyo Olympics 2020

MPL Sports becomes the principal sponsor in a deal that is reported to be worth over INR 80 million.

The Indian Olympic Association have roped in many sponsors for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with MPL Sports foundation becoming the principal sponsor in a deal that is reported to be worth over INR 80 million that will be covering the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Commonwealth games and the Asian games.

With the Chinese companies dropping out of sponsoring the Tokyo Olympics and also dropping out as the official kit partner, this encouraged the Indian native countries to enter the sponsoring market. With Edelweiss, Nippon Paint, INOX Group joining as national sponsors and Amul, Raymond and JSW Group joining as the onboard partners, the IOA has drastically benefitted from it.

Each of them bringing Rs 10 million as part of the deals, back in June the IOA ended its deal with Li Ning as their official kit sponsor was the deal that was said to be worth over Rs 60 million was in the final stages of its contract ahead of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

MPL will be playing a big role for the IOA and the Tokyo Olympics as MPL’s goal is to achieve transparency in digital sports, also allowing for scholarship programmes for young athletes to provide them with a chance and inspire them with the Indian athletes competing in the Olympics.

BCCI also backed the Indian Olympic Association with $1.35 million after the dropping of the official kit sponsor to help them through the pandemic ahead of the Olympics. The athletes competing will also be sponsored by their individual brands allowing for more exposure and promoting the Olympics that is heavily awaited by the fans.
