In the India tour of Bangladesh 2022, the two teams will take on each other in the second ODI on Wednesday, December 7 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka at 11:30 AM IST. Bangladesh have acquired a 1-0 lead in the three-match bilateral series.
The tourists fell short of what could have been a scintillating victory after a dismal batting performance in the first ODI. The Indian batters succumbed to the brilliance of Shakib Al Hasan and couldn’t provide a robust target. On the brighter side, the bowlers were right on the money from the first ball itself and gave a hard time to Bangladeshi batters to score effectively. An easy catch dropped by the wicket-keeper, KL Rahul, when the opponents were nine down cost India the game. The Indian think tank will regroup and work on different areas of the game to level the scores and keep the series alive.
On the other end, in the absence of their regular captain, Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh, under the leadership of Litton Das have registered a historic victory. The team did trouble the star-studded Indian batting line-up but Bangladesh also went off-track in the chase and failed to build small partnerships. It was the grit of Mehidy Hasan Maraz, which helped the hosts to claim the one-wicket victory. Bangladesh will walk into the Wednesday fixture with their heads up high and will look forward to claiming the game to seal the series.
The Men in Blue have the upper hand in the head-to-head competition between the two teams. Both sides played against each other on 37 occasions, India won 30 fixtures and lost six matches.
