India vs Australia 2nd Test: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

Australia lead the head-to-head competition between the two sides in the longest format.

In the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the 1-0 leading Indian team will take on Australia on Friday, February 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi at 9:30 AM IST.

The first Test was a cakewalk for Rohit Sharma and his men as they outplayed the Aussies and wrapped the game on Day 3 without breaking a sweat. The hosts were right on the money from the first session, making things difficult for the visitors. The legendary spin duo, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja lived up to their expectations and gunned down the Aussies on a spinning track. The captain set the tone for the series as he slammed a commanding century. Apart from retaining the BG Trophy, India’s entry into the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23 also relies on this series. A couple of such victories in this series will confirm India’s berth into the WTC final.

On the other end, the Aussies, who were also the favourites ahead of the series, received a reality check after the first Test. Australia surrendered to the home team in all aspects of the game as they couldn’t keep up with the roaring Indian team in home conditions. Pat Cummins will count on the experienced, Travis Head and Josh Hazlewood, who are likely to make a comeback in the following Test. The Australian camp will look to level the series anyhow in the upcoming game to keep the competition alive.

Head-to-head:

Australia lead the head-to-head competition between the two sides in the longest format as they won 43 fixtures and lost 31 games out of 103 matches.

On the other end, the hosts have the upper hand in the BG Trophy head-to-head with 23 victories and 19 defeats.
