ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 India vs South Africa: Match Preview, Head-to-Head and Streaming Details

In the head-to-head competition in T20Is, India have a massive advantage.

In their third match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, India will square off with South Africa on Sunday, October 30 at the Perth Stadium in Perth at 4:30 PM IST.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team seems to be on a roll at the moment after beating Pakistan and the Netherlands in their first two fixtures of the tournament. The bowling unit without their prime pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, has been doing a comprehensively good job in the powerplay to put India in a dominant position. The biggest positive for the Indian team has been Virat Kohli, who smashed two consecutive fifties so far. Along with the skipper and Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav also displayed his exuberant batting skills in the previous game. A victory on Sunday will most likely confirm India’s berth in the semi-final round of the competition. After an early exit last year, the star Indian opener will like to recreate the 2007 glory.

On the other end, South Africa seemed invincible on the field so far but couldn’t outdo their age-old nemesis, rain. Their rain-affected fixture against Zimbabwe was called off in the second innings when the team was on the verge of crossing the winning line. The team could have successfully gained two important points but due to the downpour, the Proteas had to settle for just one point. After thrashing Bangladesh in their second game, South Africa will be pretty confident as a unit ahead of the Sunday fixture. Temba Bavuma and his men will look to claim their upcoming game to keep themselves in contention for a semi-final spot.

Head-to-Head:

In the head-to-head competition in T20Is, India have a massive advantage. The two teams played against each other on 23 occasions, the Men in Blue won 13 fixtures while the Proteas emerged victorious on nine occasions.

In the recently concluded bilateral series between the two teams in the shortest format, India beat South Africa 2-1.
