Hitwicket, a cricket gaming startup, has developed a partnership with the veteran commentator, Harsha Bhogle.
Bhogle will be a strategic investor, providing his skills to improve the gaming experience. The alliance intends to generate cricket content by combining Bhogle’s expertise with Hitwicket’s virtual gaming platform. Hitwicket has over 5 million global downloads and allows players to play as team owners, coaches, and captains. With Bhogle’s help, Hitwicket hopes to attain 50 million downloads in the next two years.
With over 40 years of cricket commentary experience, Bhogle’s knowledge is likely to improve Hitwicket’s gaming experience. The network has a varied user base, including 19% women, and caters to those aged 10 to 60.
Hitwicket has a global reach of 109 nations, with India, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States having the highest user involvement. Cricket is growing in popularity in the United States, with tournaments such as Major League Cricket (MLC) and the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Notable people like Satya Nadella and Shah Rukh Khan are advocates for cricket’s expansion in the region.
Hitwicket has seen considerable growth in the United States, with 40% of users seeing cricket for the first time. The platform acts as a portal for American fans to gain greater insight into the sport.
