Chelsea ready to match PSG’s offer for Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi

After winning the Champions League, Chelsea is reportedly planning to spend £200 million ($283 million) on players this summer in order to further strengthen the squad. The first player to be pursued by the club is Inter Milan’s right wing-back, Achraf Hakimi.

As per numerous British and Italian media outlets, Chelsea has touched base with Inter Milan and Achraf Hakimi’s agent in the hopes of signing the player. The London-based club faces strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Daily Telegraph, Chelsea is willing to match Paris Saint-Germain’s offer of £56.1 million ($79 million) for Hakimi. However, Inter Milan reportedly values Hakimi at £68.8 million (€80 million/$96 million). At the end of May, Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano had told Italian had insisted that the player’s future at Inter is uncertain.

“There is no negotiation underway with PSG, at the moment there is nothing. He is fine with Inter. Am I optimistic about him remaining at the club? This is difficult to say.”

The rumours of new players will restrict certain players of Chelsea’s Champions League-winning squad and send mixed messages to their loan group and academy players. Chelsea is prepared to listen to offers for Tammy Abraham, but their first asking price of £40 million ($57 million) could put off possible suitors.

Olivier Giroud’s contract a one-year extension option was triggered, but he continues to be linked with AC Milan. Fikay0 Tomori is set to join AC Milan permanently after the Italian club decided to take up the option of signing him for £24.57 million. The likes of Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi, Emerson Palmieri, and Tiemoue Bakayoko are also likely to leave Chelsea this summer.

Bayern Munich is reportedly interested in Callum Hudson-Odoi again, Chelsea is reluctant to part ways with the young forward. Apart from signing Hakimi, Chelsea is reportedly looking to sign a top-class striker and defensive midfielder in the summer transfer window.
