Charlotte Hornets, Lowe’s confirm partnership renewal

Both Charlotte Hornets and Lowe's will continue to prioritize community development with this multi-year deal.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) team, Charlotte Hornets have obtained a partnership extension with the American home improvement brand, Lowe’s.

Following the extension, Lowe’s continues to be the official home improvement retailer of the Hornets.

Community involvement, which has been a crucial element of the connection between the Hornets and Lowe’s, will continue to be prioritised under the multi-year deal. This includes funding of the yearly Hornets Legacy Project powered by Lowe’s.

Furthermore, Lowe’s will be the Hornets Legacy Project’s presenting sponsor each year. The initiative’s primary focus from 2016 to 2019 was on renovating public parks and basketball courts; but, in the last few years, its attention has switched to supporting Grier Heights community projects.

Fred Whitfield, Hornets Sports & Entertainment President & Vice Chairman, stated, “We are pleased to extend our partnership with Lowe’s and to continue the great work we have done together in the community. As we celebrate the 35th anniversary of our inaugural season, it is particularly exciting to have longtime teammates like Lowe’s continue to support our franchise, especially those that also match our enthusiasm and dedication when it comes to giving back to the community.”

Jen Wilson, Lowe’s Senior Vice President, Enterprises Brand and Marketing, commented, “Lowe’s is a very proud partner of the Charlotte Hornets – and we’re thrilled to welcome the legendary Muggsy Bogues to our Lowe’s Home Team roster. Like the Hornets and Muggsy, Lowe’s is deeply committed to giving back to the community in which we live, work and play. We’re happy to build on what we’ve accomplished together with the Hornets and to further invest in our hometown Charlotte communities through partnering with Muggsy.”
