Bengaluru FC onboard Sun King as official lighting partner in multi-year deal

As part of the deal, Sun King will include Bengaluru FC's logo in its marketing materials and product packaging.

The Indian Super League (ISL) team, Bengaluru FC (BFC) have announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with the world’s leading off-grid solar energy company, Sun King.

Following the deal, the brand has been named the official lighting partner of the ISL team until July 2024.

The newly announced association has been facilitated by ITW.

Sun King provides eco-friendly electrical solutions that enable communities to improve their surroundings via the use of pure solar energy and cost-effective, eco-friendly lightbulbs, fans, and lighting fixtures.

As part of the deal, Sun King will include BFC’s logo in its marketing materials and product packaging.

Moreover, the brand is going to light the experiences of Bengaluru-based team supporters with a 360-degree campaign that will commence soon, as part of an alliance. The campaign will not only include eye-catching marketing collateral but will also provide Bengaluru FC fans with a rare opportunity to meet their favourite players.

Bengaluru FC fervently promotes the use of renewable energy through its ‘For The Planet’ campaign, in view of rising concerns about electricity shortages in various regions of India. The club emphasizes the enormous potential of solar energy and the fact that solar panels can effectively generate electricity even on cloudy days, with long-term advantages such as pollution reduction, energy independence, and a large return on investment.

Surabhi Sharma, Asia Marketing Lead at Sun King, said, “Aligning with Bengaluru FC represents a significant milestone. This partnership mirrors our shared values and drive for excellence. We eagerly anticipate the luminous journey ahead.”

Darren Caldeira, Bengaluru FC’s Director of Football, said, “Over the years, we’ve continuously strived to reduce the carbon footprint that Bengaluru FC leaves behind on the planet, and our association with Sun King is another step in that direction. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Sun King in a big way this year, and I’m eager to see all the possibilities this partnership holds.”

Recently, the team also inked partnerships with Jar and Dove Men+Care. With Simon Grayson at the helm, BFC’s new season got off to a shaky start with a 2-1 loss against Kerala Blasters FC (KBFC). The squad will next face Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) on September 27, looking to gain three points in the absence of Sunil Chhetri.
