BCCI extend timelines of the tender process for new IPL teams

The deadline for purchasing the ITT was October 5, but with the extension in place, the date for purchasing it has now been moved till October 10, 2021.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the extension of timelines of the tender process for the two new IPL teams coming up from next season.

The governing council of the IPL had previously issued the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (“ITT”) document available on payment of the non-refundable tender fees on August 31, 2021, and had set the deadline for purchasing it to October 5. But with the extension in place, the date for purchasing the ITT document has been moved till October 10, 2021.

Jay Shah in his statement said, “Pursuant to a request from interested parties, the BCCI has now decided to extend the date for purchasing the ITT document till October 10, 2021.”

The interested parties would have to send an email at ittipl2021@bcci.tv for further details regarding the purchasing the ITT.

As per the earlier notice, the ITT will be available to interested parties on receipt of payment of the non-refundable tender fee of INR 10,00,000 (Rupees Ten Lac Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax.

Reports also suggests that with the confirmation of IPL 2022 having ten teams instead of the usual eight, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly selected six cities that will host the two new franchises from IPL 2022.

The six shortlisted cities are reported to be Guwahati, Ranchi, Cuttack, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Dharamsala. Moreover, Ahmedabad appears to be the number one contender for one of the franchises along with Lucknow being the second one.
