Arshdeep Singh secures county deal with Kent Cricket

Arshdeep will become the fourth Indian to represent Kent after Kanwar Shumshere Singh, Rahul Dravid, and Navdeep Saini.

The Indian left-arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh has secured a deal to play for Kent Cricket in the County Championship 2023.

The 24-year-old star fast bowler who plays for Punjab in the Indian domestic circuit is all set to play five county championship matches between June and July. Arshdeep will become the fourth Indian to represent Kent after Kanwar Shumshere Singh, Rahul Dravid, and Navdeep Saini. 

The county club announced its association with the Indian speedster through its social media platforms.

On the new deal, Arshdeep Singh said, “I am excited to play red-ball cricket in England and continue to improve my skills in the first-class game. I look forward to performing in front of Kent’s Members and supporters; Rahul Dravid has already told me it is a Club with a great history.” 

Paul Downton, Director of Kent Cricket, said, “We’re delighted to have a player of Arshdeep’s potential join us for five matches this Summer. He has demonstrated that he has world class skills with the white ball, and I am very confident he will be able to put those skills to good use with the red ball in the County Championship.”

Singh made his international debut against England in the T20 format in Southampton in 2022 and has been an integral part of India’s T20I setup since then. He had also shown his bowling prowess in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. He also made his ODI debut in the same year against New Zealand in Auckland.

The star pacer is all set to be seen in action in the upcoming edition of IPL where he will be donning the Punjab Kings (PBKS) jersey.
