The National Women’s Soccer League (NSWL) team, Angel City FC (ACFC) have inked a new sponsorship agreement with PNC Bank. Following this new association, the Pennsylvania-based financial institution is set to serve as one of the club’s founding partners and its 29th sponsor ahead of its second season.
In accordance with the agreement, PNC will support Angel City’s 10-per cent sponsorship investment reallocation scheme and cooperate with the club to develop projects for “women financial decision-makers” in the Los Angeles region.
PNC will assist the club’s retirement programme, Player 22, for NWSL players who want to start social ventures and businesses in addition to the programme for business leaders in LA. For the players and staff of the club, the bank will also offer workshops and tools on financial education.
The relationship between PNC and Angel City will also be celebrated at a home game that will be presented by PNC in the 2023 NWSL season. The recently renamed BMO Stadium is the venue where Angel City plays its home games. BMO is the club’s founding partner and its sponsor for retail banking and wealth management, while PNC is the club’s official women’s business champion and its sponsorship is centred on business-to-business.
Angel City, President and Co-Founder, Julie Uhrman, commented, “PNC Bank’s dedication to support women financial decision makers and to helping close the economic gender gap is completely aligned with Angel City’s desire to close the pay gap for women’s soccer. From day one, ACFC has supported women-owned businesses through our impact and partnership.”
Todd Wilson, PNC Regional President for Greater Los Angeles, said, “We’re thrilled to align with an organization that supports women’s sports and women financial decision makers in multiple ways, including through Player 22.”
