WPP signs collaboration with Epic Games

This new agreement will assist WPP agencies in delivering a new era of digital experiences for brands in the metaverse.

WPP has announced a new partnership with the interactive entertainment company and developer of Fortnite and Unreal Engine, Epic Games.

This new agreement will assist WPP agencies in delivering a new era of digital experiences for brands in the metaverse.

The collaboration will include a new training programme that will teach WPP creatives and technologists how to build custom brand experience in Fortnite. Following this, they will also learn how to use Unreal Engine for real-time 3D creation and virtual production. This innovative metaverse coursework will include three distinct tracks for executives, creative practitioners, media experts and strategists.

WPP teams will collaborate closely with Epic experts to learn and practice next-generation interactive elements. They will accomplish this by utilising Unreal Engine, which is a cutting-edge real-time 3D invention tool used in a variety of industries such as games, film, architecture, fashion, automotive, music, and live events.

WPP teams will be able to use training and tools to create amazing adventures in Fortnite, in which creators can generate creative worlds for brands inside one of the world’s biggest online games.

WPP will also join forces with SuperAwesome to improve its knowledge of online confidentiality and protection in order to help its campaigns engage younger audiences in a secure environment.

Nilufar Fowler, Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at WPP, said, “We think of WPP as the creative transformation company, one that embraces new environments like the metaverse and sees the potential for clients. Epic’s technology is world-class, and we are delighted to partner with it to raise the bar for social experiences in virtual worlds on behalf of our clients.”

Matthew Henick, Vice President of Metaverse Development at Epic Games, commented, “The collaboration between Epic, WPP, its clients and the creator community will accelerate the building of diverse social entertainment experiences that players across the world will love. This partnership with WPP bolsters our mission to educate more trailblazing brands and creators on how Epic’s tools across Fortnite, Unreal Engine, and 3D marketplaces like ArtStation and Sketchfab can be used to bring their metaverse visions to life.”

WPP recently announced The Metaverse Foundry, which is an emerging world metaverse provider via Hogarth, its specialist creative content production house.
