Virat Kohli’s knock against Pakistan halts online shopping

Mihir Vora, Chief Investment Officer at Max Life, disclosed the graph on Twitter.

Virat Kohli, the legendary Indian batsman’s masterclass innings against arch-rivals Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 temporarily halted online shopping according to a graph unveiled by an investment officer.

The graph, which tracked online transactions throughout the day, showed that online transactions ceased during India’s batting and plummeted between 5 and 6 pm IST when Kohli was at his best.

Mihir Vora, Chief Investment Officer at Max Life, disclosed the graph on Twitter. It depicts a significant Diwali buying rush in the morning from 9 am till 1:30 pm IST when the game was about to begin.

Following the start of the match, online transactions stayed silent during Pakistan’s batting. However, it began to fall even more as India’s batting began. The number dove after 5 pm IST at one point. When the game was over, the shopping resumed.

“Virat Kohli stopped India shopping yesterday!!UPI transactions from 9 a.m. yesterday till evening – as the match became interesting, online shopping stopped – and sharp rebound after the match,” Vora wrote on Twitter.

The T20I match between the two arch-rivals was a nail-biting tale played at Australia’s Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

India was chasing 160 runs but faltered early, losing four wickets in the first six overs while the score was still 36. Kohli, on the other hand, remained calm. He took the game deep before deciding to take command. His unbeaten 82 off 53 and Hardik Pandya’s 40 off 37 anchored a stellar victory for the Men in Blue at the MCG.
