Tyson Fury to sponsor Morecambe FC for 2022-23 season

As part of the deal, Fury will sponsor the players' kit shorts.

The former Heavyweight World Champion, Tyson Fury has announced that he will sponsor his local football team, Morecambe FC for the 2022/23 season.

Fury retired from pro boxing in April after beating Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium. He announced this decision at Morecambe’s Mazuma Stadium. As part of the deal, Fury will sponsor the players’ kit shorts.

Talking about the association, Fury said, “Big announcement, the Gypsy King has just sponsored my local club, Morecambe Football Club. Let’s have a fantastic season and smash it! I love the Morecambe area and it is a pleasure to be able to support my local club.”

Morcambe published a statement, “Morecambe FC is proud to announce a shirt sponsorship deal with the two-time Heavyweight Champion of the World, Tyson Fury.”

The initial contract will see Tyson’s Gypsy King brand logo feature on the home and away playing shorts for the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season.

Fury lives in Morecambe and frequently posts videos of himself training in the area on social media.

Despite his retirement, he is still being discussed and intertwined with a possible return to sport, especially after Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in August.
