Star Sports secures Asian Legends League broadcast rights for next three seasons

Star Sports, as the Asian Legends League's official broadcast partner, strives to present fans with memorable moments and spectacular cricketing action.

The sports broadcasting baron, Star Sports has bagged television rights for the Asian Legends League for the next three seasons, from 2024 to 2026.

The Asian Legends League, an event for former Asian cricket legends, will exhibit renowned players’ talents in an exciting competition format.

The World Sports Group (WSG)-organised competition will feature five franchise teams from notable cricketing nations: Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Pakistan Stars, and Afghanistan Pathans. The highly anticipated event is slated to take place from May 27 to June 4, 2024.

On the development, Chetan Sharma said, “We are delighted to partner with Star Sports, a pioneer in sports broadcasting, to bring the Asian Legends League to fans across the globe. This collaboration will undoubtedly enhance the viewing experience and elevate the stature of the league.”

Along with announcing the agreement, WSG carried out important committees to maintain the league’s standards and integrity. Renowned members of the Code of Conduct & Ethics Committee include Chetan Sharma, Vijay Dahiya, Harwinder Singh, and Parwinder Singh. The panel is chaired by Mr. Ashok Malhotra. Additionally, Vijay Dahiya leads the Playing Condition Committee, which includes Harwinder Singh, Sarabh J Singh, and Nensi Patel.

The calendar has also been announced, with league matches running from May 27 – 31, followed by knockout matches from June 1. The Grand Final will be held on June 4, 2024. As a further treat, cricket enthusiasts will witness the historic rivalry between India and Pakistan resume on May 29, 2024.
